Varnet introduces All Aluminium Venlo structure at Growtech Eurasia

Turkish greenhouse builder Varnet Glasshouse Systems will introduce a commercial all-aluminium Venlo greenhouse structure design. The manufacturer will showcase a demo setup of their All Aluminium structure at the Growtech Eurasia exhibition held in Antalya this week.

According to Jozsef Nagy, Sales & Export Manager at Varnet, the use of aluminium for the base structure of a glass Venlo greenhouse is a logical next step. "It is a result of our commitment to sustainability and aligns with global trends in construction, automotive and aerospace design."

From the ridge down to the last nut and bolt, Varnet's All Aluminum greenhouse design is made, as its name suggests, completely from aluminium. The greenhouse manufacturer says it has been researching this opportunity for decades. "We came up with a special type of aluminium alloy and designed our own patented profiles that could meet the structural requirements and tensile strength of currently used steel components."

Aluminium has been used for polyethylene greenhouses for decades. Glass greenhouses already use aluminium roofs, but are still built on steel poles. Nagy explained that aluminium poles can provide a few advantages over steel structures. "The material has a longer lifespan that surpasses the lifespan of steel, doesn't require any maintenance and is much lighter. This makes the manufacturing easier and speeds up the assembly of the greenhouse project. Large greenhouse projects can therefore be completed much faster. In addition, more light is expected inside, as the shiny aluminium has reflective characteristics."

Demo setup at the Growtech Eurasia

The greenhouse builder has the objective to make the aluminium structure available at a price that is competitive with the price of current steel greenhouse structures. At the upcoming Growtech Eurasia exhibition in Antalya this week, visitors can have a look at a demo set up at the booth of Varnet.

Interested people are invited to visit Varnet Glasshouse Systems at booth 4/230.
