New version available of Hydroponic Systems hanging gutter

For those greenhouses with a situation that does not allow the installation of metal gutter systems, Hydroponic Systems now offers an alternative with a hanging or standing version of their Spacer gutters.

Hydroponics original Spacer System is a plastic gutter system which is used in many greenhouse operations which place their substrate slabs at surface level. The spacer results in better ventilation between the drain channel and the substrate with a reduction of disease pressure and a healthier root system as result. Hydroponic Systems has now introduced both a hanging and standing version of this system to make the solution available for other growers too.

The new HS Spacer for Elevated Systems allows the proven technology to be installed on standing or hanging systems. This for example is especially interesting for greenhouse berry growers who are looking for labor friendly hanging gutters or tomato growers who want to raise their crop from the surface with a standing gutter and do not have the option to let the structure carry the entire weight of the crop.

According to Vahid Bagheri of Hydroponic Systems, the system is easier to install than current steel gutter systems. "No heavy machinery is required to manufacture the gutters in situ. All of the parts fit in a shipping container and can be installed and connected on site, of course without having any leaks. Another advantage of the system is that the gutter is no longer subject to oxidation since it is a plastic installation."

"We have installed the first projects with the new version of this system in Europe and the Americas and the growers were impressed by the easy installation of the system", Bagheri added. "Once the crops are in, they will also see the already proved benefits of the spacer system which keeps the drainage control clean and maintains a healthier root environment for optimal production."
