Russia: VDH building new F-Clean greenhouse in Kislovodsk

Near the Russian city of Kislovodsk in the Caucasus, a new three hectare tomato and lettuce greenhouse is being built by VDH Sustainable Greenhouse Solutions.

What's special about the greenhouse is that the roof will be fully covered with the Japanese F-Clean film. This film is made from 100% ETFE. The covering material looks like a standard polyfilm, but acts like glass. "It mainly stands out for its light transmission, which is retained for a long time", said Ben van der Heide of VDH. He informed us that the greenhouse will hav a 12.8 meter trellis and each deck of 6.4 meters will get two ventilation windows.

The Russian city of Kislovodsk is located in the North Caucasus region. The greenhouse will have lettuce and tomatoes in it, both of which are to be packaged directly at the company for retailers.
