Mexican propagators, seed companies, growers unite against Clavibacter

Earlier this month, HortiConnect organized the International Seminar GSPP Certification, prevention of Clavibacter michiganensis in tomato seeds and plants. The event took place in the city of Querétaro, México.

The Good Seed and Plant Practices (GSPP) protocol was presented by Claire Peusens Manager of the GSPP foundation and Peter van Enckevort from Naktuinbouw.

Speakers from Monsanto, Rijk Zwaan, Biociencia and HortiConnect shared experience and knowledge with an audience composed mainly of plant propagators, growers and seed dealers.

Encompassed by presentations of the GSPP protocol, different topics were discussed during the 2 day event; including risk analysis, detection and control, dynamics of the disease in young plant nurseries and the differences between GSPP and non GSPP production of seeds.
