Pacombi Group acquires Van der Gugten Rijnsburg

Van der Gugten Rijnsburg, the Rijnsburg-based wholesaler specialised in packaging for the horticulture sector, is now part of the Pacombi Group. The two parties signed the acquisition agreement on Wednesday 6 July. After the acquisition Van der Gugten will continue trading under its own name and will continue to be steered by Martin and Freek van der Gugten.

The Pacombi Group, a 100% family business active in various packaging, hygiene products and disposables markets, sees the acquisition of Van der Gugten as a strategic step towards further growth in both the Dutch and export horticulture markets. Two of the Pacombi Group companies - Van der Windt Verpakking and Olsthoorn Verpakkingen - are already active in these markets. Jan Paardekooper, owner of the Pacombi Group: “The addition of Van der Gugten gives us even more possibilities to improve and broaden the service we offer our clients”.

Van der Gugten Rijnsburg is a family business that, since it was established 100 years ago, has supplied horticulture packaging and logistics solutions to growers, retailers, exporters, importers and other wholesalers. The company employs 13 people at its modern premises in Rijnsburg where it has a state-of-the-art box erecting machine. Martin van der Gugten: “Bundling our strengths will result in a substantial expansion of our range of products and services. This will enable us to offer our existing clients even more. In a nutshell it’s a win-win combination both for us and the Pacombi Group”.
