New sAgritela olution from Arrigoni:

Improved berry harvests with clever mulching films

Mulching films are used to contain weeds reducing the use of pesticides and improving the soil’s microclimate.

Agritela, Arrigoni’s mulching film, favours the growing of plants, contains the growth of weeds and guarantees the proper transpiration and air circulation for roots. Transpiration also helps block the development of root fungi, which lead to plant and productivity loss.

The flat fabric is made of highly-resistant Polypropylene, so it is possible to walk on it to carry out on-field operations (thinning, harvesting, etc.). In addition, the micro-holes enable air-circulation.

Agritela is available in various formats and colours (black, brown, green, white) and can be used for strawberries, blueberries and raspberries cultivated both soil-less and on field.

Agritela Lux
Agritela Lux is the white version, which contains specific additives that reflect and spread light (PAR= photosynthetic active radiation). This way, fruit has a better colour, especially those hid by the leaves or located in the lower parts of plants.

Lab tests have shown that the fabric reflects 70% of PAR light. In fields, such percentage is reduced to 30%, which is highly positive for photosynthesis and fruit coloration.

Excellent results have also been seen Kanzi, Pink Lady and Fuji apples. In fact, tests carried out with Agritela Lux in a Kanzi apple orchard have shown a 30% increase of the fruit with a better colouring. In addition, 20% more apples (3kg/tree) were ready during the first harvesting.

Achieving a better price for the produce enables the repayment of investment costs in just one or two seasons.

Agritela Lux is particularly ideal for orchards with anti-hail netting, which can reduce light by 20%. The optimisation of the light let through enables the compensation of the light lost.

Agritela Lux’s side reinforcements and its mechanical characteristics enable:
  • the installation of tags and elastic rings to facilitate the laying and lifting of the film
  • the passing of tractors and machines to carry out phitosanitary treatments
  • an average life of 5 years

Arrigoni recommends installing the film 4/6 weeks before the ripening of the fruit.
