Canada: Mucci adding 12 acres of greenhouse strawberry production

Mucci Farms’ Smuccies, sweet strawberries were voted Best New Fruit in the Produce Innovation Competition at United Fresh Convention. Smuccies was also awarded at this past CPMA for Best New Freggie Approved Award.

Mucci Farms say they are "berry" excited to announce that Greenhouse Grown Smuccies, sweet strawberries will always be in season with year-round production.

They are currently expanding their strawberry production adding an additional 12 acre range to equal a total of 16 acres, attached to a 40,000 square foot pre-cooling and packing warehouse. The harvest from this new greenhouse is expected in the fall (October).

New to Mucci's line-up of FRESH are their Smuccies as well as Naked Leaf, living lettuce and herbs. Naked Leaf was also a finalist in United Fresh Produce Innovation Competition. These items and more will be showcased at the PMA Food Service in Monterey later this month.
