China: Students to examine opportunities in horticulture

As a supplier to the European market for horticultural products, you must have been aware of the fact that the industry is nearly saturated with supplies. Therefore, many in our industry are looking for new markets like China. This country is in the top 5 for growing export markets worldwide and it has the most joint-ventures in the field of horticulture. For this reason it has the focus for the Green China foundation, a project from 13 Dutch students that are examining the chances for the horticultural industry and linking it to educational institutes.

In cooperation with the Shanghai Normal University, the students of Inholland University of Applied Sciences focus on connecting the Chinese and Dutch markets for sharing information and creating possibilities for a sustainable international network.

During this research there will be a unique link between China and The Netherlands including:
- Chinese and Dutch Students
- Chinese and Dutch Business sector
- Chinese and Dutch Market
The group has a a key partnership with the Shanghai Normal University to achieve an optimal access to the Chinese horticultural industry and market. By cooperating in this way, the students combine their efforts to aim for the best possible result.

The students of Inholland Universtity of Applied Sciences are planning to conduct this research during September, October and November 2016. This period will also include two weeks of fieldresearch in China, Shanghai.

At this moment they are looking for companies that are willing to participate in exploring the possibilities China provides. Participation includes financial and intellectual support in exchange for (a part of) the research results. In agreement, the project also provides the possibility to come up with your own specific issues on the subject.
