Geothermal energy to provide heat for seven Dutch growers

After years of preparation, another group of Dutch greenhouse growers will soon have access to geothermal power. The project Aardwarmte Vogelaer will start construction with drilling to hot water at the site on June 1. The company hopes to put the installation and related heat network into use by the end of 2016.

At lot still has to happen at the Arckelweg in Poeldijk before the seven participants can begin to use the geothermal heat source. More information is available on the website www.aardwarmtevogelaer.nl.

AAB has been involved in many aspects of this project. Almost all departments at AAB are supporting the Aardwarmte Vogelaer geothermal project. Among other things they have taken care of the necessary permits, approvals and waivers; drafted different designs and supervised procurement and they will also be managing the project during the implementation phase.
