Storage, processing, packaging, delivery

Polish transport company to offer full service for fruit & veg

Many logistics companies are now offering full package services to their customers and to stay on top of this trend, XD Logistics has announced their plans to establish a distribution center by 2018 which would deal with the storage of fruits and vegetables at controlled temperatures, processing and packaging, before the product is finally delivered to the end customer.

The company currently arranges transport from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland.

"We are able to provide large, medium and small vehicles to transport fruit and vegetables. We know from experience that the transport of medium and small quantities has been a huge a problem for suppliers. Although we have the ability to transport all types of fruit and veg, we have a lot of experience in the transport of apples and tomatoes." shared Mirosław Łuczak from XD Logistics.

With a range of different vehicle sizes available for transport, their controlled temperature vans/trucks range from the transport of 8 pallets in their smallest vans, to medium vehicles with a payload up to 16 pallets, all the way up to large vehicles to accommodate a maximum of 33 pallets.

"Due to the important role that lead time plays in the transport of fruit and vegetables, transportation by truck still prevails in mainland Europe. The lead time can affect the quality of the transported good which is why transportation by rail or air is not the preferred solution by suppliers." said Mirosław.

"We strive to provide personalised service by keeping in close contact with both our drivers and the customer while the shipment is en route to its destination."
