Mexico: Greenhouse peppers for export on 10 ha

The Cimarron greenhouses will start operations in 10 hectares of high technology to produce pepper destined for the export market.

Jose Calzada, head of SAGARPA, will attend the start of operations of this agricultural complex located in the municipality of Villa de Reyes.

The high-tech production center is owned by the Payan family. According to a source close to the entrepreneurs, the development of each hectares required an estimated investment of one million dollars.

The source didn't specify the volume of pepper this complex would produce but he confirmed the production would be destined for the export market.

Governor Juan Manuel Lopez Carreras will also attend the start of operations ceremony at this agricultural production center.
