Fall Creek Farm & Nursery, Inc., a global blueberry breeding and nursery stock company, has named Oscar Verges as International Chief Operations Officer. In his new role at Fall Creek, Verges will be responsible for Fall Creek’s international subsidiaries including Europe, Mexico and Peru and will oversee Fall Creek’s licensee relationships in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and South Africa.

Verges began his career working for Chiquita Brands International and was part of their Global Management Development and Executive Leadership Development programs. He worked in several countries including the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama, and others in different finance and operations positions of increasing responsibility before moving to Chiquita’s European headquarters in Belgium where, among his other responsibilities, he led the development of a Pan-European banana ripening and distribution network before taking on the role Managing Director for their Fresh Cut Fruit business. Oscar then moved to FreshRoyal in Spain, where he got his first introduction to the blueberry business in the setup of their blueberry operation in Morocco distributing to retailers across Europe. Verges also briefly ventured into telecommunications, becoming Managing Director for Lebara and co-founder of alów, two mobile service providers in Spain. Verges earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa and an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
