New camera and software tracks activities of pests and bees

Decisions for applying crop protection strategies are often made on the situation that you see and scout inside the greenhouse. But what if you could have some extra help in the field by having the availability of a special camera tool that can visualize and characterize the interactions between insects and plants?

Well the Beecam of Advansee might be a solution that can soon be adapted inside your greenhouse too. The Beecam is a specialized camera with image processing software for isolated outdoor environments. The camera can record 40 hours of video and performs analysis in the area of biodiversity, agronomy and precision agriculture.

The scope of the Beecam was to create alternative methods for integrated pest management techniques and to gather knowledge of pollinating insects colonies.

According to the makers, the Beecam can count insects in their natural environment and in several places simultaneously, observing interaction between animals and plants.
