Maine tomato grower Backyard Farms participated in the2nd Annual Maine Science Festival, The event brought a dazzling display of chemistry, physics, biology and technology to the Cross Insurance Arena in Bangor - and Backyard Farms was thrilled to participate! "There is no doubt that science and engineering are key players in how we grow delicious, quality tomatoes in the middle of Maine year-round, and we had a blast showing an inside look at life inside our 42-acre greenhouse to students of all ages!", writes Backyard Farms on its blog.

Backyard Farms' maintenance team created a very special Backyard Farms Science Fair project, complete with five-week-old plants, a gutter system, grow light, pest countermeasures, and bumblebees safely encased in a plastic observation hive.
