Orange bell peppers come early this year in Holland

Every year it's exciting when the first Dutch orange peppers are available again. Earliness and extra quality are two unique characteristics of the orange pepper breed DSP7054. This year this is again grower 4Evergreen was the first with Orange bell peppers.

Dennis Grootscholte shows the first DSP7054 orange peppers of the season

Co-owner of 4Evergreen Robert Grootscholte explains why DSP7054 was again chosen for regular cultivation this year:
  • "Because of its sweet taste the DSP7054 orange bell pepper is seen as the fruit among vegetables. Kids love it and orange peppers therefore sit nicely in their lunchboxes.

  • "4Evergreen wants to stand out with four different colors so it will avoid the yellow pepper from tending to light orange and the light orange pepper from being perceived as dark yellow by the consumer. That’s why they choose DSP7054 without hesitation. Sales has also grown accustomed to its characteristic orange color."

  • "The earliness, the March kilograms are much in demand, it is the prelude to the season. The tone is set for quality; finally there are Dutch orange pepper on the shelf again. Although in limited quantity, so a good product to make the difference."

  • "The high percentage of class 1; 4Evergreen’s professional cultivation method in combination with this strong breed ensures optimum quality with hardly any loss. This ensures high marketability and customer satisfaction both in trade and consumers."
