This year, the seed breeders at De Ruiter are focusing on a comeback for cucumbers and peppers, while the tomato varieties that the company introduced last season will again be in the spotlight.
Cucumbers upcoming
For a long time it seemed quiet at De Ruiter regarding cucumbers, but there was some hard work being done behind the scenes to develop new varieties that excel in production and strength. A number of varieties are now in the final testing phase. De Ruiter can reveal one variety already: Dubai, the new cucumber for summer and autumn cultivation.
Bell pepper coming
The same applies to the De Ruiter pepper range. Special things can be expected in 2016 here too, starting with the yellow pepper called Ballaidos. And two additional new pepper varieties from De Ruiter are coming.
Tomatoes
It will not have gone by unnoticed that De Ruiter launched a couple of new tomato varieties last year. Three of these are currently already successful in the market: Sevance, Audiance and Ducovery. And Luminance is steadily conquering the market in France.
Open days at the Tomato Experience Centre
There is - as always - the possibility to see all new and existing varieties during the open days at De Ruiter's Tomato Experience Centre in ‘s-Gravenzande. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 8 and September 7 this year. From early April you can also visit the Tomato Experience Centre by appointment.
