February 27, Overton

US (TX): Aquaponics construction and education workshop

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting two hands-on educational workshops on aquaponics system construction and maintenance at Overton Research and Extension Center.

Extension Small-Acreage Vegetable Specialist Dr. Masabni is hosting this construction workshop to get help from aquaponics enthusiasts, volunteers, and current and potential producers to have his research system built.

In exchange, Dr. Masabni offers an opportunity for participants to get hands-on practice on all aspects of construction and maintenance of a system with all necessary components for a successful operation and production, whether on a commercial scale or for personal use in the backyard.

Handouts will be made available at the workshop of practical use, such as what type of fish and sources, what type of foam pads and sources, what type of analytical equipment is best to use for pH, EC, and nitrate levels, etc. A material list and pricing will also be included with the workshop. A half-price registration is offered for participants for 1 future aquaponics educational program.
