IDM introduces new electrostatic Fumimatic

In close partnership with Martigniani from Italy, IDM has developed a new spraying machine designed for low-volume electrostatic spraying, the Electrostatic Fumimatic.

This new machine consists of a combination of the IDM self propelled vehicle specific for greenhouses and the Martignani ESS spraying equipment; obtaining, as a result, the first self propelled electrostatic spraying equipment in existence.

Its evolved spraying system generates air-stream turbulence and atomizes the spraying drops, charging electrically the resulting droplets that are finally attracted to the plant, covering its top and underside as well as the whole fruit. The negative electrostatic charge given to the droplets is attracted by the positively-charged surface of the plant and repelled by the also negatively-charged ground, significantly improving the efficiency of the treatment.

The more efficient adherence avoids any dripping on the ground and allows growers to lower water and chemical consumption. Saving and guaranteeing the most effective homogeneous treatment is the main goal of this new crop-care equipment development.

This makes the Electrostatic Fumimatic, the first self-propelled equipment for low volume electrostatic spraying, able to work in both protected and open-field intensive agriculture.
