New organic pepper varieties available at De Bolster

Dutch organic breeder De Bolster is bringing several new pepper varieties to market in 2016. This novelty will be shown to the general public at the Dutch Organic Trade Fair Bio-Beurs (Zwolle) and at the BIOFACH (Nuremberg). An important step for De Bolster, because the offer for professional users has increased even further.

Blocky and Sweet Peppers

New Red bell pepper Olly F1 is characterized by its vigor and remarkably rapid coloring of the fruit. Elsa F1 is a yellow bell pepper that stands out as a short and strong variety with fruits that gain in color relatively early. Lilo F1 is a unique block pepper bearing dark purple fruit which ripen to dark red. These varieties are resistant to the Tobamovirus of TM 0-2, 0-3 and 0-2. The weight ranges from 170-190 grams to 200-220 grams.

The sweet pointed peppers (Xaro, Zazu and Kyra) are all very tasty. Xaro is a strong breed that regularly bears fruits of 100-120 grams. The Zazu has yellow fruits with a weight of 100-120 grams and Kyra has crunchy, very durable orange fruits. All these varieties are resistant to the Tobamovirus (TM 0).

Availability
All pepper breeds are new on the market. For crop year 2016 seed availability is limited. As of crop year 2017 De Bolster expects to be able to adequately meet the demand.

If you want more information about these new breeds suitable for the professional market, please contact De Bolster or visit them at the BIOFACH (Hall 9, booth number 360).
