Canada: Botanigard approved for cannabis, strawberries and wasabi

BioWorks’ biological insecticide, BotaniGard (ES and 22 WP), has been approved for use in Canada on cannabis that is produced commercially indoors, as well as greenhouse strawberries and wasabi. The PMRA approved the label expansion in November and an updated label is available on the PMRA website.

BotaniGard is a biological insecticide that controls whitefly, thrips, aphids and many other insects in adult and larval stages. It is compatible with many beneficial insects and has a 4-hour restricted entry interval and a 0-day pre-harvest interval.

“BotaniGard is an important tool for many of our growers in Canada,” said Joe Gionta, Director of Marketing and Sales. “This label expansion is critical for growers who use biological products to fight resistance and reduce chemical use. New customers can now discover what existing customers already know, that BotaniGard is versatile enough to use as a stand-alone, as a tank mix partner, or in rotation with other insecticides.”
