Italy: First edition of Macfrut at Rimini Fiera

The first edition of Macfrut held in Rimini ended on 25th September.

Over 11 thousand people visited every day (34 thousand in total), although the first two days were the busiest according to the organisers.

The event was held at the same time as Flora Trade, which attracted 4,793 visitors over three days.

20% of visitors came from abroad and from Ecuador, Iran, Dominican Republic, Poland and Mexico in particular. There were also a few delegations from China and Russia. They were more interested in our technological and packaging solutions rather than Italy's fresh produce supply though.

Exhibitors were happier with the location as "pavilions are much higher and spacious. In addition, the fair can also be reached via train. We were very happy with the B2B meetings and many companies dropped by to visit."

Giancarlo Minguzzi, president of Fruitimprese Emilia-Romagna, said that "this edition was very good. We could improve the timing, as it takes place way too close to Madrid's Fruit Attraction and other international fairs. I believe April or May would be perfect."

To this regard, it must be said that many companies had organised "open days" during the same period and therefore could not take part in the fair.

FreshPlaza's photo report is available for all those who could not visit the fair.

If your stand is not in the report, please do send your photo to: rossella@freshplaza.it - We will be pleased to publish it.
