Released call for the lease of land over 3 ha in Macedonia

On August 10 a public advertisement announced the leasing of state agricultural land of over 3 hectares in area, through public bidding. The land is in four regions, with the highest area of 4565 hectares in Sveti Nikole. There 4 484 hectares of state land is offered, which is divided into four sections. In the first of them, the developer is obliged to build dairy farms for a maximum of four years, and to invest at least 6 million euros.
 
As announced at a press conference by Deputy Minister Vanco Kostadinovsk, the first plot of land will be given on lease for 15 years, and the remaining three units for different lengths of time depending on the purpose - if it is used for growing crops (vineyards, orchards) above 30, for grain 15, for olives 50 for nuts 70.
 
In these three sections the developer must invest at least two million euros in processing capacity which will be available to farmers from other regions.
 
The minimum starting price for the electronic public bidding will be 70,000 to 100,000 euros in general. First and second class land minimum price is 120 euros per hectare for the third and fourth class 90 euros, fifth and sixth 80 euros and for the seventh and eighth class is 60 euros, said Kostadinovski.
 
He announced a public call for leasing state-owned agricultural land in Struga, Strumica and Resen.
 
The Resen area of 25 hectares is divided into two sections of which the first (21 hectare) is given on lease for 30 years, and is designed for growing crops. The second (4 hectares) for growing other crops is given for lease of up to 15 years. A cattle farm will need to be built on this land for a maximum of four years, the investor is obliged to invest at least three million.
 
The Strumica lease offers 39 acres for growing crops for 15 years, but the commitment means the construction of refrigeration for two years that can be used by farmers from other regions.
 
Struga lease provides 16 hectares and a poultry farm should be built on the plot, worth at least 100,000 euros, but also to produce fodder.
 
All potential investors will have to submit a business plan with the prescribed minimum investment for the construction of the facilities required - farms, coolers, ... provisions have maximum respect. If you do not meet the deadline for capacity building, unfinished buildings remain the property of the Republic of Macedonia, stated Kostadinovski.
 
The call for land in all four regions will last 60 days.
