France: Ridder acquires Anjou Serres Services

Ridder is pleased to announce that it has acquired all the business operations of Anjou Serres Services. This marks Ridder's next step forward in its internationalization efforts. The French market is a strategic priority for Ridder. It calls for presenting one familiar face to our customers with local people that understand local needs. With this acquisition, Ridder has further strengthened its commitment to the French market. That's why Ridder will soon be rolling out its new poly range in France.

Commitment to the French market

As from July 1, 2015, Jean-Pierre Allain will start as Director of Sales for Ridder Drive Systems in France, focussing on the greenhouse , intensive livestock and crop storage industry. Jean-Pierre was the owner of Anjou Serres Services. Albert 't Hart, CEO of the Ridder Group said the following about Jean-Pierre Allain's appointment: "This is the next step in our international strategy. France is of key strategic importance to us. It is a market where we must present one face to the customer. This requires people who not only understand the business, but also understand French culture and speak the language. In addition, we share the same ideas when it comes to enhancing customer value. This made it a perfect match."

Poly range to be first challenge

Jean-Pierre's appointment comes at a logical time. Ridder is on the verge of launching its new poly range. Jean-Pierre was actively involved in developing the new range over the last few years. Jean-Pierre said the following about developing the new poly range: "Ridder's new poly range was on my wish list for the French market. Ridder of course owes much of its success to selling drive systems for glass greenhouses. In France, however, many greenhouse builders also focus on poly greenhouses. That’s why my first challenge will be to launch Ridder’s new poly range onto the French market. Thanks to my appointment at Ridder, I can now continue my work at a higher professional level. That wouldn't have been possible with my company."

Familiar with the French market

Jean Pierre Allain is a well-known player in the French market. He began his career in greenhouse business 30 years ago at CMF. There he held positions ranging from technical design department to sales department. With an additional experience in the plastic greenhouse at JRC, he returned worked for CMF with a stronger export orientation . It is also where he learned to work with customers to develop solutions for glasshouses and poly greenhouses.

Jean-Pierre decided to set up his own company: Anjou Serres Services. He was familiar with the French market and the French customers knew him. That quickly proved a recipe for success and he spent the next 10 years building his company. Specializing in drive systems, he became our official agent in France mainly focussing on small to medium-sized companies. Thanks to his excellent reputation in the market, it wasn't long before customers in livestock and crop storage industry also sought him out.
