HortiDaily lost a bet.....

Okay, fair is fair, the editor of HortiDaily lost a bet that was made after his visit to W.Martens' greenhouse in Beamsville last month. Grower Billy Martens Jr. was challenged to complete the construction and put in the first plants within eigtheen days after the visit.

At the moment of the visit, 19 days ago, the greenhouse still had no concrete path, and even the piperail heating and the hanging gutter systems were not installed, and some parts of the screenings still needed to be done.

Picture taken during the visit on Saturday June 6. The first plants entered the greenhouse on Wednesday June 24.

We were surprised when we received this picture yesterday; the greenhouse is finished and the first plants are already in there! The crew must have been working 24/7 do complete this job!
