Mitsubishi and Red Star to investigate in Japanese glasshouses
This month, Westland's mayor Van der Tak, the Japanese governor of Fuki Prefecture and CEOs of Mitsubishi were officially received at the town hall in Naaldwijk, The Netherlands. During the visit, the mayor spoke about his support for the collaboration between VEK adviesgroep, DLV/GreenQ, Vijverberg Advies Japan and RedStar, under the leadership of Rob Bal and the Japanese Misubishi for a feasibility study in order to investigate the possibilities for sustainable and modern glasshouse horticulture in Fukui, Japan.
What makes this collaboration special is the participation of three different advice bureaus and tomato producer RedStar, with such a strong and important partner as Mitsubishi, who want to bring horticulture in Japan to a higher level, equivalent to Dutch standards. They are supported by the council for Westland, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Japanese prefecture.
Various high-tech Japanese businesses have stepped into vegetable cultivation in recent years.
Governor Issei Nishikawa stressed the importance of collaboration and is looking forward to the results of the feasibility study.
