UK: TGA appoints Bernard Sparkes as Chairman
Over the past few years the TGA Board, under the Chairmanship of Nigel Bartle, has strived to take the TGA in a new direction with a greater emphasis on technical issues together with ongoing support for selected and proven promotional activities and the provision of one of the best conferences in the horticultural calendar. Alongside this the TGA has, for the first time, directly financially supported a research project looking at the economics of LED lit production at Stockbridge Technology Centre.

The TGA Board feel it is the right time for the Association to spend twelve months building a platform and strategy for continued success and real tangible economic benefit to members, whilst building on the great results of the past. They are, therefore, delighted that Bernard has joined the TGA as Chairman to help us on this journey. Bernard is a highly respected and knowledgeable member of our industry; he will provide the TGA with a first class spokesperson and help ensure our Association’s successful future.
Working alongside Bernard will be the newly appointed Vice Chair of the TGA Board, Patrick Harte, General Manager of Cornerways Nursery, Philip Pearson, Group Development Director of APS Salads and long term Chairman of the TGA Technical Committee, along with his newly appointed Vice Chair, Roly Holt from R&L Holt Ltd.
Bernard will also work closely with the TGA’s Technical Officer, Dr Phil Morley and Secretary, Julie Woolley.
