Mexico: First experience of Cravo Greenhouse in hot summer

It was a real pleasure for almost two dozens of participants from India, Australia, South Africa, Middle East, Caribbean Islands and USA who came to Culiacan Mexico during hot summers to get first hand practical experience of learning inside Cravo X Frame Greenhouse.

The Challenge of learning unconventional way of growing crops when outside temperature is 40+ and humidity very low. What we have learned from our Cravo Master Richard Vollebergt who has been teaching for past three decades continuously.

How plants develop differently under the retractable roof both with and without insect net? How the retractable roof can help prevent foliar disease, reduce damage due to insects and reduce the rate of insect reproduction? How the retractable roof can manipulate changes in soil temperature, air temperature and humidity levels in comparison to conventional net houses and conventional greenhouses? Irrigation and nutrition under a retractable roof retractable roof computer control system programming and operation including which sensors and set points are the most critical? Strategies for how to use the retractable roof to hit the higher price windows which are difficult to reach in conventional structures or the open field?

Most of participants are now looking forward to promote Retractable Roof Production System in their respective countries as Cravo Ambassadors because inside temperature is lower than outside and it is easy to maintain without fan and pad system in hot summers. This system requires 1-2 kw of electricity for opening or closing of roof.

If anybody is interested to participate in next Cravo Trip-II programme to be scheduled at last week of May 2015 may kindly contact Cravo on mail rajendert@cravo.com or mobile +919816080580
