Seminis meets key customers in Germany during Tomato Expert Panel 2015
Inspiration, networking and education, these were the keywords during the Spanish Tomato Expert Panel event from 21-23 April in Dusseldorf.
This event is a type of think tank where the most relevant tomato producers player in Iberia, meet to talk about predefine topics that help them to identify in which direction the industry is going.
This year, as said, the meeting was hold in Dusseldorf (Germany) and after a brief introduction about the tomato German market.
lead by the Iberica Trade Partnership manager Miguel Sanchez (picture), participants moved to the workshops.
The participants, key growers and representatives of grower- and trade associations discussed about key topics from the industry like
commercializing, production techniques, market opportunities and threatds due to Russian export ban etc.
As well, during the morning, participants had time to visit and to talk with a reference Glasshouse producer in that area Karl Brunen.
Mr Brunen gave participants a great perspective about GLS production.
After that meeting, participants had the opportunity to meet the Vegetable responsible for the most awarded Edeka Zurheide supermarket in Germany.
We had an inspiring conversation with Mr. Herr Passmann where we were able to better understand the strategy of a supermarket with a clear positioning around Quality.
All the participants were enthusiastic about the German approach and they are already looking forward to Tomato Expert Panel 2016
