Prices of polyethylene films to increase due to PE raw material crisis

Your greenhouse plastic cover might be a bit more expensive this year due to the latest developments on the raw material market for Polyethylene. According to FVG, the situation has been dramatically worsened over the recent weeks. After a slight reduction of the prices in early 2015 the current prices are almost exploding.

In some cases the large raw material suppliers have called a Force Majeure for their production which means production lines have been shut down caused by higher forces. This does mean all prices and contracts for raw material are no longer valid.

Available quantities of PE Materials have been reduced remarkably and have led to production delays in single cases.

Shortages in supplies do lead to higher prices and the large suppliers of PE Material are enforcing them in any circumstances.
