Jiffy substrate facility Treffex in Estonia officially opened
Wednesday 15th of April the Jiffy substrate factory Treffex in Estonia was officially opened. Karmo Leemet, Plant Manager Treffex, welcomed all present, including Kalev Kaljuste Governor of the local county, and by cutting the ribbon, Dagfinn Andersen, President CEO of Jiffy, officially opened the factory. “The substrates made in Estonia are being used in many European countries, but also in Asia. Moreover, I even see possibilities to export it to America”, Dagfinn Andersen said.

The upgraded substrate factory is now ready to produce high quality Baltic peat mixes. Now it is possible to deliver right from the source substrates with new raw materials like white peat blocks fraction 0 and 1, Coco Pith fine and a new binder for pressed blocks and plugs. In addition, a new big bale machine and 70 liter bags is now available for producing the right packaging. All this makes it possible to produce consistent quality, match the needs of the growers and produce innovative and environmentally friendly products.
