New Hishtil herbs and ornamental peppers at California Spring Trials

At the California Spring trials, which will take place in two weeks, the Israeli young plant grower and grafter Hishtil will show their new line of herbs and grafted edible ornamental peppers. The new line of herbs is called 'Freshen up your salad' and includes 4 different herbs that all include a different taste or scent. The line of grafted ornamental pepper trees are called Funtasticks. Hishtil can supply these varieties as young plants or propagation material to growers all over the world.

'Freshen up your salad'
1. Rungia klossii

Rungia klossii has a mushroom flavor and is high in vitamins. The plant grows quickly and gives a special touch to salads.

2. Santolina viridis

This Santolina viridis has fine soft green foliage with scent of olive. It is very suitable for Mediterranean pasta dishes, home-made oil mixtures, salad dressings, fish and meat dishes.

3. Cymbopogon citratus (Lemon Grass)

The Cymbopogon citratus is Native to the tropical areas of Asia and has a lemon tast. Its base and leaves cab be used in curries and many other dishes.

4. Salicronia

The Salicronia has a salt flavor. It can be eaten raw or quickly fried, steamed or microwaved.

FuntaSticks

The colorful ornamental and edible peppers were also on display at the IPM Essen and Fruit Logistica in Germany. The plants are called FuntaSticks and bring an aesthetic value to the common pepper plant. This is also done by unique grafting, for which they have a worldwide patent (the patent code regarding the FuntaStick - US PATENT PENDING N.62069866). The plant can be placed indoors and outdoors.
