More exhibitors and exhibition area at IPM Shanghai

From April 22 to 24, 2015, Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai will become the meeting place of the green sector in China for the 17th time. Over 600 companies from 24 countries will present the newest products and services in the Plants, Technology, Floristry and Garden Features areas. That will correspond to a rise of 45 percent in the number of exhibitors. China's largest horticultural fair will take place in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre for the first time and, with 25,000 square metres, will occupy a greater area than ever before.

All the signs are indicating growth: Ever more significance is being attached to the cultivation of and need for plants. Because political reforms have been instigated, China is investing in horticulture to an increasing extent. The sector is being offered a wide variety of possibilities by the "Beautiful China" project which was initiated by the Chinese government and is intended to improve the quality of the air and the environment or by the "National Urbanization Plan" which makes provision for the fact that 60 percent of the population will live in cities by 2020. Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai will profit from this economically favourable situation to a particular degree and will be the ideal platform in order to provide new stimuli. The parent fair, IPM ESSEN, was also able to register a higher number of visitors from Asia this year.

"China is and will remain a market with growth chances for the future. With the China Flower Association, we have a competent partner at our side. Not least, this is also the reason why Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai has once again grown even further and is registering an even stronger international demand," according to Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen GmbH.

In 2015, Ecuador will participate in the fair with an official cooperative booth for the first time and will bring along over 24,000 cut flowers. Other national booths will come from France, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Korea. Germany will present products "Made in Germany" on a booth which will cover 180 square metres and will be promoted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs.

Supporting Programme

Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai will once again offer exhibitors and visitors a top-class supporting programme. Already on the day before the fair, inspection tours of a plant production location and a flower market will be on the agenda. During the fair, international florists will demonstrate floral design on the highest level in thrilling stage shows.
