Maintenance checklist from BioTherm:

Keep your boilers running efficiently

A properly maintained and efficient heating system requires a thorough tune-up at minimum, once per year. According to BioTherm, post spring production is a good time to do it. Check and inspect your boilers today.

Here are a few items that should be on any boiler maintenance checklist:


1. Clean air filters, water strainers and gas filters/drip legs.

2. Verify igniters and ionization probes are oxidation free

3. Clean burners

4. Check expansion tanks for adequate pressure

5. Inspect ventilation systems for obstructions

6. Verify call for heat by inspecting thermostat wiring and checking the system settings

7. Verify heat source combustion is within spec by checking air and gas pressure

8. Check common spare parts stock.
