Greater use of wood fibres at Klassmann

Wood fibre is among the substrate constituents that Klasmann-Deilmann will make greater use of in the future. And the company is embracing the benefits of in-house production, which is yielding continuously growing quantities and now takes place at three facilities. Substrates containing the ‘Klasmann GreenFibre’ wood fibre product are extremely well established in the relevant markets and are increasingly becoming top-sellers within the Klasmann range.

Klasmann GreenFibre is a high-quality wood fibre product that has undergone both thermal and mechanical processing. It is manufactured with various textures precisely tailored to different applications. The main advantages of this raw material derived from sustainable forestry are the increased air capacity and additional optimisation of drainage capacity, as well as the improvement of capillary water distribution in the substrate. Thanks to a special nutrient-management concept, Klasmann GreenFibre combined with valuable raw peat materials has proven an excellent ingredient, especially for structurally stable growing media. Klasmann-Deilmann has its sights on a new application, namely the production of blocking substrates, for which a particularly finely structured form of Klasmann GreenFibre will be used as an additive.

Klasmann GreenFibre
