In Memoriam : Scott Kornberg of AmHydro

Last week Scott Kornberg of American Hydroponics passed away. Scott just started in his new position as Chief Operating Office at AmHydro, after he worked as Chief Technology Officer for the company since December 2011.

We remember Scott as a person who was very knowlegable and as somebody that was always smiling and available to help you.

Before Scott joined AmHydro he worked at Sun Valley Floral Farms where he served as Greenhouse Manager before he became Director of Operations. From 2000 to 2007, Scott was the General Manager of B&H Flowers, a hydroponic flower facility with over 600,000 square feet of greenhouses. At B&H Flowers, Scott was responsible for new construction, staff management and overall operations.

Scott passed away at the young age of 57 on Wednesday February 25.

Jenny Harris, CEO at American Hydroponics: "It is a shock and all our hearts are filled with sadness at the loss of Scott with his vision and passion. Scott & I were both business partners and friends. We shared a mutual passion for the future of our company and what we can do to change food production in world. His absence is difficult to comprehend and yet drives me forward with a desire to accomplish everything we dreamed of and exceed his hopes for local, sustainable food production."

"Scott was a force in the horticulture industry and, speaking personally, he was a kind and generous man with a great love for people and an amazing knowledge of greenhouses, growing, horticulture, & agriculture. One of Scott’s biggest passions was working with people and helping them succeed. We will continue that dream in Scott’s memory to honor him and ensure that his children and family are proud."
