Denmark: Poulsen Roser introduces new indoor clematis

During the speed date session at the IPM Essen 2015, Poulsen Roser showed their new Clematis, Reiko™ Evipo083(N). This is a special clematis because it can be grown indoors as well as in the garden. "When the clematis is done flowering, you can put it outside", says Ghita Krage from Poulsen Roser.

This new indoor clematis is called Reiko™. The plant has purple flowers. "Some petals have subtle stripes and others are even". The leaves stay green and do not turn yellow over time. The plant is healthy and fully winter hardy outside.

Reiko™

The Reiko™ Clematis is part of the Garland® collection. "The collection is characterized by clematis that will flower up to 8 weeks and boast up to 30 flowers." What is special about this collection is the fact that it can be placed indoors like any other indoor flowering pot plant, as well as outdoors. "This clematis is specially bred to grow in either situation, regular clematis are not able to grow inside", says Krage.

The Garland® collection

Poulsen Roser is a Danish breeder of roses and clematis. Every year, 30 million Poulsen® roses and 2 million Poulsen® clematis are produced on licence at nurseries in more than 60 countries. More than 50% of total global sales of potted roses are Poulsen Roses.

Next to this clematis they also introduced another clematis from the Boulevard® collection and three new rose varieties at the IPM Essen. The license for growing these new varieties are now available for professional growers.
