NL: Seasun and RedStar test new patterned sticky traps

Biopol Natural (the Netherlands) and Russel IPM (the UK) have signed an agreement for the distribution in the Benelux of an innovative and revolutionary trapping ribbon: the Optiroll Super. The long relationship between both organizations has once again yielded results. "This agreement fits in the strategy to work alongside partners in our network to move towards chemical-free cultivation and also bring top quality products to the Dutch market," said Mark Hoogendoorn (Operations Manager at Biopol Natural).

Optiroll Super

The innovative product facilitates the trapping of insects and increases the return on investment for entrepreneurs. The Optiroll Super is characterised by its black patterns, which increases its capacity to attract insects. Research has shown that there is a higher concentration of insects in the edges of trapping ribbons due to the contrast in colour. After various experiments, an optimal pattern was developed and practical results show significant improvements (up to 50-100%) in the trapping of whitefly and thrips.

Tests
Currently various greenhouse companies, including Seasun and RedStar, are working with this innovative product. Russel IPM is known for its many years of experience and successful innovations in the field of pheromones and monitoring products. Biopol Natural is a supplier of biological crop protection products.
