Russia: Governor of Saratov region visit greenhouse complex

Governor of Saratov region Valery Radayev visited the greenhouse complex Volga on August 18. The complex grows cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. The total area of greenhouses equals 14 hectares. Since the beginning of the year over 4500 tonnes of vegetables have been harvested.

The reconstruction of greenhouses based on the Dutch technology is in progress. According to the head of the complex, if they manage to grow 1000 tonnes of vegetables in the existing greenhouses, then with the implementation of new premises in November 2014, the volume will increase by 870 tons.

The complex is actively developing. This is the second investment project over the past two years. It contributes to the cultivation of high-quality vegetable production by means of energy-saving technologies, - stated the head of the region.

According to the governor, an agricultural market of fresh produce grown in the greenhouse complex is to open shortly in the village of Solnechny, Saratov region.
