The first harvest was collected in the 50,000 square meter geothermal greenhouse, which is the first phase of a private company's agricultural brand in Konya Tuzlukcu. The company chairperson Muhammet Suheyp Mendi and Research and Development and New Investments Group President Master Engineer Beytullah Bilgin also attended the harvesting process.
The tomatoes obtained after harvest will be sent to domestic and international markets. In the future, the goal is to grow different vegetables and fruits other than tomatoes as well. Stating that they were happy to harvest the first crop of products, Muhammet Suheyp Mendi said, "With this great project, we are making the Konya Tuzlukcu region the world's leading geothermal heated technological greenhouse. Today we collected our first harvest, now we will deliver it to consumers at home and abroad. To contribute to our national economy, we aim to succeed in exports. At this point, we can say that as a country, we are a candidate for the throne of the Netherlands in agricultural exports."
Different agricultural products will be grown through research and development processes. Stating that they aim to fulfill the majority of the demand in both the domestic and foreign markets with the harvest of the second stage, Mendi said; "We will use our third stage greenhouse to carry out our R&D studies. In this greenhouse, the cultivation of different agricultural products other than tomatoes will be observed and we will establish our fourth-stage greenhouse within the framework of the results we obtained. In addition to testing products such as peppers, cucumbers, and eggplants, we will also experiment with growing watermelons, melons, and tropical fruits. As a result of these trials, we will move on to the construction phase of suitable greenhouses for growing relevant vegetables and fruits. "I believe that we will achieve these goals soon."
The greenhouse area, which allows high-quality and healthy products to be obtained with minimum water consumption and can be produced throughout the year, also stands out with its female employment. The company continues its efforts to support social development and increase women's participation in the workforce.
